Testosterone

Testosterone products and supplements are often used by men who seek physical enhancement. Older men may use it to overcome signs of aging. However, therapies and treatments used to treat low testosterone (Low T) in men often result in serious side effects and cause long-term risks, such as heart attacks and strokes. As more and more cases arise after the use of testosterone products or supplements, men suffering from cardiac arrest, stroke, or other heart-related issues are beginning to file lawsuits. The major concern in these mass tort cases is that the possible risks associated with the use of testosterone are not clearly mentioned as a warning. The risks and benefits associated with the use of testosterone therapies will now come under more scrutiny as the medical community learns about the adverse effects associated with the use of Low T therapies.

Pharmaceutical companies are facing allegations that they have made misleading statements about the benefits of their Low T drugs. Even healthy men and elderly men who had no history of hypogonadism, also known as low testosterone levels, took their supplements after reading claims made by the companies and started experiencing side effects.

It was not until March of 2015, that the agency issues safety warnings stating that the use of testosterone drugs may increase the risk of stroke, and heart attack in men, which also leads to stroke. Although these testosterone products are FDA approved, they have lead to thousands of lawsuits filed by men who are now experiencing cardiovascular problems after using testosterone drugs. Many of these lawsuits are still pending in federal court.

Only some testosterone manufacturers warn their customers about the number of testosterone side effects, including high blood pressure, blood clots and so on. These side effects are particularly common in people who have heart, kidney, or liver disease. As the incidence of these side effects rose, men suffering these side effects are now filing testosterone lawsuits. If you feel you have also been a victim of such false claims, you may have a valid claim. Call the office of Fenstersheib & Berkowitz, P.A. at (800) 529-6268 to discuss your case.
